Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Home

Like most full-time RVers, we also have responsibility and bills. The way it works for our family is returning "home" every couple of weeks so that Erik can pick up some shifts. He works his shifts in blocks so that he can have large chunks of time off to travel.
We enjoyed two weeks at the beginning of February at home with our dogs, catching up on homeschool, going to the dentist, celebrating Skogen's birthday with friends, and making plans for our next big trip!

Maida helped plan Skogen's surprise birthday party, but didn't know she was going to be surprised, too!!!

Packing up and heading out on the RV is always a lot of work. All the skis need to be waxed, sleeping bags need to be washed, enough clothes need to be packed, and everything has to be hauled to the RV (which is kept several miles from our house). It's always a relief to finally take off.
