Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Beginning of Summer 2015

After Sarena's graduation, we left three of our four kids at Bumpa and Grandma's house!  Klaasen isn't ready to be away from us, yet, so he came home with us.

Klaasen took me on a date!  We went to Nupa and had Greek food!  YUM!

On the way to my eye surgery!  Goodbye glasses!!!

Feeling great on some Vallium, texting Erik while waitng to go back for surgery.

While I slept off surgery, Erik took Klaasen to a party for the Emergency Department.

Erik went in the dunk tank and Klaasen thought it was awesome!

Swollen, sore, itchy eyes, but seeing 20/15, which is better than normal.

Some pictures that I got of Skogen from my nieces...

We ventured to the cities for a house warming party!  Thank goodness for sunglasses!

We took a little side trip to hi up our favorite store, Nordstrom Rack. I love this guy!

I took Klaasen on a bike ride.  He insisted on dressing like a race car driver!!

Now that my eye surgery is out of the way, we are looking forward to getting our other three kids back and getting our summer activities started!!

Rest of May's Random Pictures....

Our beautiful front yard!

Babysitting Baby Adelyn

Birthday treats for Maida's class!

Maida's classroom birthday celebration!

Her class had baby chicks, so Maida got to take one out to show Torsten!

Racing cars with the neighbor

Our beautiful house

We got lice.  BUMMER!  So lots of hair treatments and braids...
57 loads of laundry in four days and everything else bagged up in the hallway

Thank goodness for our essential oils!

post-treatment bun

Dinner with friends who also had lice and weren't afraid of us!  :)

Skogen and Maida's first concert!

Steven Curtis Chapman's "The Table" concert tour was AMAZING!

Erik knew it was a hard week and came home with some Dr. Pepper for me!  I only drink this on special (or hard!) occasions.

Last lice treatment!  I didn't have a shower cap, so I used tin foil.

These two had an awesome month of soccer!

I was able to do some pre-op appointments for lasik!

These two enjoyed a run with me!

An enormous spider jumped on me one day, which made me frantically and obsessively exterminate our entire house!!!
