Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

Our journey will begin in during the spring of 2017 when our family will head off on an adventure of a lifetime!  We are following our dreams and God's lead to Nhowe Mission and the Brian Lemons Memorial Hospital, which are located in Zimbabwe, Africa.
Our family is committed to living and serving at Nhowe Mission where we plan to love and serve in the hospital, the school, and the church.  We also have big plans to help with the addition of an orphanage.  More details of our service will come soon, but first we are planning for our pilot trip in November of 2016.  We invite you to check back often for updates and to join us in prayer as we prepare for this.  After our most recent move, we realized that kids aren't exactly as resilient as others have made us believe and that it's hard to move anywhere, even just an hour away from "home."  Our move across the world will stretch us, but it's our hope and prayer that it will also strengthen us.  Prayer will be our lifeline and God will be our guide.
