Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.
Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.
For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...
“As the Scripture says, ‘Everyone who calls out to the Lord for help will be saved.’ But how can they call to him for help if they have not believed? And how can they believe if they have not heard the message? And how can they hear if the message is not proclaimed? And how can the message be proclaimed if the messengers are not sent out? As the Scripture says, ‘How wonderful is the coming of messengers who bring good news!’”
Romans 10:13-15
“Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”
Romans 12:9-13
Hi. This is a little creepy, I know, but I'm the owner of the home that you tried to purchase. My husband and I found your blog when we searched your name on a kick back when we got your purchase offer.
ReplyDeleteBefore I say any more, I have to say that we would NEVER sue you. It was not even a consideration for us. And we are very upset that our realtor threatened you. As if you do not have enough of a nightmare on your hands right now!!
I have been very hesitant to comment on your blog because I know it is weird, but when I saw this, I just had to say something.
We were thrilled that a family as cute as yours was going to be moving into our beloved home. We have three kids and we just finished our General Surgery residency there and are now doing our Trauma Surgery fellowship so we feel we can really relate to you. We have been heartbroken for you through this entire process and thought about you over and over again. We wished there was something we could do for you. We would love to be able to rent our home to you, but it is a long story (which I would be happy to share in an email) why that is not a possibility.
You are in our thoughts and prayers. We are so sorry for what you've been through.
I would love to be in touch with you. I LOVE Rochester and would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. We lived there for five years and will be back in another year for a consultant position. Feel free to email me at joannakmorris at gmail dot com.
Are you still looking to rent? I could put out my feelers and see what crawls out of the woodworks, if you'd like. What's the max rent you can afford? 4 bedrooms?
