Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Match Day

The day has come. It is officially "Match Day."
I did not anticipate it being such an emotional roller coaster, but this week (and especially today), I have had so many ups and downs. I can't help but think about, wonder about, dream about what it would be like to live in each of the places Erik interviewed. Most of the time I'm excited and happy about thinking about moving and everything each new city would have to offer. But, right after the excitement, seems to come the questions, the unknowns, and the anxiety.
This morning (since it's midnight, already) at breakfast with Erik's class, each of the medical students will receive an envelope. In the envelope is a letter containing where the student was placed. Everyone opens them at the same time.
I can hardly wait!
Tonight before drifting off to sleep, I plan to lay still at the feet of Jesus and give all my cares and concerns to Him. Hopefully I will wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to face whatever and wherever it is that we will be headed.

Waiting patiently to hear the news...
