Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Pregnancy Advice

by Maida

1. If you eat pineapple with a fork while you are pregnant, it gives you a much better relationship with the baby.

2. It's okay to puke. Your puke is cleanable.

3. If your breath stinks when you're pregnant, your boobs will grow to the size of footballs.

4. If you can't breastfeed, someone can break into your house and help you. Sometimes it's the doctor that breaks in. If it is the doctor, you can tell him that you are upset about the kind of doctor he is becoming. Just give him a little attitude and he will understand.

There is so much to learn from this little four-year-old, all in just a day's play. :)

In case you missed the story of how Maida got pregnant, you can read it here.
