Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

"Litto Tinker"

Our "litto tinker" (as Maida calls him, which means 'little stinker') is seven months old. In fact, he's almost eight months old, and I can hardly believe it. He's closer to one-year-old than he is newborn.

Just for fun, here are Skogen and Maida's seven month pictures. What do you think?

Siblings, definitely.

But not identical.

It seems like just last week when Maida was seven months old! I often go back and read our journal entries from when she was a baby. She was such a smart "litto tinker," in fact, she was a lot more advanced than Skogen is at seven months.

See for yourself:

We're working on Skogen, too. I always thought that my second baby would be a lot more advanced than the first because he would have a sibling to watch and learn from, but actually I've found the opposite is true. He's actually further behind because he's got a big sister who likes to do everything for him.

Which is okay (for now) cause his looks make up for it!
