Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Daddy and Me Sports Night

The week after Erik's surgery, Erik was up and going enough to take Skogen to "Daddy and Me Sports Night" at preschool!
Not only did Erik take Skogen, but he also took Skogen's classmate and good friend, Grant. Grant's Daddy is a resident, too, and was working the overnight shift, so couldn't take him. (I regretfully didn't get any pictures of Grant and Skogen together.)
Skogen was so excited to have a special night with Daddy and it was all he could talk about all day.
Maida was very excited about it, too, and I think she was secretly hoping that she would be able to go since she went the year before.
She was very disappointed when Daddy and Skogen left without her.
I was told that Skogen and Daddy had a great time, but we have no pictures to prove it because Daddy forgot his phone at home.

Here are some pictures from last year's Daddy and Me Sports Night when both Skogen and Maida were in the same preschool and were able to go. As I was looking at these pictures from a year ago, I couldn't believe how much has happened and how much life has changed in just a year!
