Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Spirit Fest 2015

Ever since Erik and I were wee-little ones, we have been going to Spirit Fest!  Spirit Fest is a youth rally up in Duluth, Minnesota for the Church of Christs around the area.  Last year was our first year to bring the kids and this year they just couldn't wait to go back!!
On the way to Spirit Fest!

The kids were excited to stay in a hotel with a swimming pool!!!

Skogen met up with some old camp buddies and they enjoyed playing together during the speaker, who was geared more toward teens.

Everyone, including this lovely guy, was excited to ski!

Our family with some of the others who attended from Rochester.

Torsten fell asleep on the chairlift!!!

Klaasen fell asleep in the lodge, so we laid them on a table and they slept for a good two hours!

Skogen and his good friend, Will, from Rochester

Maida fell asleep on the way from the hill to the hotel!

Everyone down to long underwear, getting ready for bed after a great weekend of skiing!

Heading home.
