Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

7,137.1 miles of Interviews

We've been to Rochester, Minnesota, Indianapolis, Indiana, Omaha, Nebraska, St. Louis, Missouri, Kalamazoo and Detroit, Michigan, Chicago, Illinois, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We have numerous pictures and countless memories from our journeys. From swimming pools and hot tubs, to a car museum, a Vikings game, a flat tire in Illinois, and a snow storm in Michigan. We certainly didn't use our interview travels just for interviews! We were able to see things we'd never seen before, visit friends and family that we hadn't seen in a long time, master changing a diaper in a moving vehicle and sleeping five people in one room, and we spent time getting closer to each other and to the kids.
Now as we reflect back on those 7,137.1 miles of interviews, it is hard to believe that in just a few short months, we will be starting a new job at one of those new places. As we make our rank list, we anxiously anticipate this new chapter in our lives and pray for guidance in our decision making and peace with whatever happens.
