Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

December 2013 - Pre-Christmas #2

Erik and I have been making it a point to sneak away on more dates!  Being married, in residency, with four kids can be challenging.  It's nice to pause and catch up with each other every once in a while.

Torsten's growth curve!

Our beautiful Christmas tree

Skogen played soccer through the month of December and continued to be the top scorer on his team.  :)

First real haircut (he was yelling at me because I was trying to hold his sucker out of the hair on the cape and he didn't like it that I was touching his sucker!)

The movie "Frozen" with friends from church and school

Erik stubbed his toe and broke it

Torsten got to warm up with Skogen and Klaasen's soccer class and thinks he's a BIG DEAL!

First one down with the stomach bug.

Our Elf on the Shelf, Elfie Lewis, had a great idea this year!  He brought the kids markers and stamps to make their teachers Christmas cards.

Second two down with the stomach bug.

Erik's first ski of the season!

Someone LOVES mom's coffee and got busted sneaking my Coconut Mocha!

A special puppy chow making night!
