Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Halloween 2010

Halloween was a big hit at our house... the fun and creativity of carving a pumpkin... roasting and eating pumpkin seeds... watching Maida dance in her Halloween costume with all of the other little girls in her dance class... the excitement of the much anticipated Halloween party at school... the joy of Nicholas's first birthday party (which was a costume party, too!)... dressing in fall colors for church on Sunday... the enjoyment of fellowship and eating lunch with friends from church... serving by raking a lady's yard with our church friends... Viking football... trick-or-treating with our favorite neighbor... the happy sounds of trick-or-treaters at our door... uncontrollably indulging in all kinds of candy (until Maida got sick!)...
Our Halloween week was great!

A blast from the past...
