Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer, so therefore we are asking you to join us in praying for these two families...

* Carissa is the 12 year old daughter of Maida's preschool teacher. She was recently diagnosed with Moyamoya and is having brain surgery today. The family is keeping everyone updated here.

* Steven and Joy, some friends of ours are nearing the end of their pregnancy with a precious baby girl who is having some complications. Please go to Steven's blog for all the details and updates.

"Never stop praying."
1 Thessalonians 5:17

  1. Thank you, Kara! Our entire family is so encouraged by the faith of everyone rallying around us in prayer. I know Stephen is particularly enouraged, so thank you for being a prayer warrior for them. You're a good friend.
