Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

K9 Dog Trials

W-O-W! We just took part in one of the coolest events of the summer. The K9 Dog Trials were held here in my parents hometown and I have to admit that when we were planning on going to the trials, we had NO idea what was in store for us!

Erik and I just couldn't believe how cool the trials were!! We took lots of pictures and even a video (as we got to witness a Black Hawk helicopter landing RIGHT in front of us and Pax, one of the K9's, jumping out of it, attacking a "robber" and taking him to the ground). HOW COOL! I posted some pictures from the trials, but honestly I was too in awe of the show to take many pictures. You will not believe how cool this was!
