Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

On the Charts

Skogen had his six (SIX- can you believe it?!) month doctor appointment yesterday. He's finally on the charts! He's in the 90th percentile for the height (27 3/4") and 95 percentile for his weight (20# 11oz). Perfect little boy. We had several concerns to present to the pediatrician, the main one being his skin problems. According to Dr. P, we are doing everything right. Skogen's eczema turned into impetigo a few weeks ago, which brought us into the doctor for some additional medication, but now that the impetigo is gone, the plan is to just keep doing what we have been doing (Eucerin, Vanicream, Aquafor, Cetephil every two hours, Triamcinolone on the bad-bad spots, and a bath only once a week). Dr. P really thinks this is something that Skogen will grow out of. That was good to hear.
