Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

All Moved

We're finally all moved! We are so excited. There is still a lot of work to be done, but we're happy to finally have our own place. THANK YOU to everyone who came to help load the truck up in Duluth. We got it loaded fairly quickly and enjoyed some pizza in the garage before saying goodbye to everyone. That night after we got the truck loaded, we heard on the 10pm news that there was a midnight 5K run down on the lakewalk, so on the spur of the moment, and since I had been training for a 5K anyway, Erik talked me into it we decided to do it. Luckily my parents were in town and were able to stay with the kids. While running, I thought I was going to die and even had to walk some of the time, but crossing the finish line was so rewarding, especially since I didn't get last place! Anyway, I got tied up in Duluth the next day cleaning, but Erik drove down and unloaded the truck with the help of some friends. THANK YOU to everyone that was there. We have been so blessed with friends who care and who are always there to help. The truck was unloaded in only about an hour!
