Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Day After Thanksgiving

The morning after Thanksgiving, my mother-in-law treated Karlie and I to pedicures!  It was such a relaxing morning with the massage chairs, warm soak water, a great foot massage, and pretty toenails to show!  I really enjoyed some girl time with no kids!!!  It was so special!

While the girls got pedicures, the boys replaced our toilet.  (I'd much rather get a pedicure!  Ha!)

Pictures of the new toilet to come!

That afternoon the boys played football with some friends from church, then we went to IKEA for some quick shopping, and that night we took Maida and Skogen to the Holidazzle Parade!  It was pretty chilly, but we dressed warmly and wrapped up in sleeping bags.  It was fun to see how much Maida enjoyed all the lights and she even recognized some of the characters in the parade.

We were so busy trying to keep warm, that we forgot to take some pictures of the actual parade, so I attached some from the Holidazzle website.
