Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Relay for Life

On Friday night, our family was able to participate in the Relay for Life at the college. The medical school had a team that we were a part of. We all walked in honor of Kyle, a fellow medical student, who was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. Last year at this time, Erik organized a benefit dinner for Kyle. This year it was great to be with him cancer-free! Maida also decorated bags for Aunt Susie, Erik's aunt, and for our friend Scott McEndree. There was a Hawaiian theme, so Maida was all decked out in her grass skirt from Erik's Aunt Ranee and cousin Hilary! Skogen busted out his swim trunks for the first time, too. Here are some pictures...
