Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Kitchen/Dining Room

The kitchen and dining room aren't completely done yet, but so many have been asking for pictures of the house. So, here's your first sneak peak into the updating we've been doing.
Here are some before and after pictures of the kitchen/dining room. It's a work still in progress.

BEFORE:

AFTER:
(I don't want to reveal the rooms until they are completely done, so I just took pictures that show a little bit of the rooms.)
So far we have changed the light honey-colored cabinets to dark mahogany. We changed the old gold colored hardware to brushed nickel. We took down the old blue curtains and hung black ones. We stripped wallpaper and painted most of the kitchen a baby blue color and two of the walls a dark grey color. We're planning some new flooring in the near future, which we'll follow with some baseboards, and then hopefully (maybe) a counter top and new sink and faucet someday.

  2. Aubsie,
It's really grey, but in certain lights looks black or navy or chocolate brown! It's the silliest color!

I soooooooooooo wish that you lived closer to help me with this house. I can NOT decorate!
