Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Maida Raine Loves the Rain

This week we have had a ton of rain. The rain is not only good for our grass, it's good to play in, too! Erik and I both took turns going outside with Maida to play in the "river" at the end of our driveway. Maida's rain jacket is still packed and because she insisted on wearing one, she had to wear one of mine! When we were done playing, we had to force her to go inside out of the rain and get in the shower to warm up. She was having too much fun to stop!

Here is a video to show you how deep the water was getting by the afternoon on Wednesday and how fast the "river" was flowing at the end of the driveway. Maida looks like a little fire hydrant standing there! Since she was wearing my jacket, she wasn't able to move around and splash in the puddles like she usually does.
