Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Maida's Great Week

Maida has had a great week! Not only is she continuing to go potty on the potty chair (yay!) but she really excelled in swimming this week and also received a package from her cousin Darin and his girlfriend Erika. They bought her some winter outfits and a new winter jacket (which she was in desperate need of!).

Maida had one bad day this week when she ate a teaspoon of baking soda while helping Mommy bake Daddy some cookies, and she got a tummy ache. But, Mommy let her lay on the couch for a few hours and then she felt better.

On Friday Mommy and Maida had some friends over for a playgroup. Cameron and Bergen, along with Justine and Ezekial came. The babies had fun playing and us girls had some great girl time!

Here are some videos from swimming (below). The first is Maida practicing her scoops (she kind of just pats the water, if you look closely you can see her do it), her kicks, and then at the end she tried to blow some bubbles while scooping and kicking. She's getting better at all three. At least she'll actually attempt them! The first few days of swimming lessons, she just threw tantrums because she didn't want to do what the teacher said! The second video is of Maida jumping off the side of the pool, which she wouldn't do at the beginning either. Now it's getting easier for her.
