Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Skogie Bear

Maida and I have officially given Skogen a nickname - "Skogie Bear". It wasn't on purpose, but it came out one day and now it's stuck! We're excited that we're over halfway through the pregnancy and can't wait to meet our little guy. I created a new poll on the left hand side. Go vote! (It's just for fun and totally anonymous.)

  1. A little scary that Maida may turn out just as corny as you, Kara. Look at that cheesy grin! :D

Just kidding...love you AND your corniness!

  2. Oh..and BTW...I haven't posted WHERE I'm going on vacation on my blog, because I'm keeping it a secret to some people! I'm going back to Holland for a 3 week visit, and only two people there know about it. The rest will be surprised!

Also...I'm not living with my parents because I'm 25 and TIRED of living with my parents. Haha. I have a much better relationship with them when I live outside the house. Also, my sister is coming for 2 months to stay, and my bedroom IS the guest bedroom. So it works out better that way, anyway! Now everyone has a comfortable place to sleep!
