Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

  2. Ha! It was SO hard to keep it a secret from everyone, and especially YOU after I found out that you were pregnant, too! And it sounds like our due dates will just be days apart! Too bad that you'll be in Alaska by then! :(

  7. Congratulations!!! So excited for you guys! I am currently in the throws of managing 2 kiddos (and most of the time I feel unsuccessfully), so I am in awe of even the possibility of taking care of three at once. :) And vacuuming every night??? You have got to be crazy! ;)

  9. I have NO idea how I'm going to do three. Jenae, I have had two for almost a year, now, and I am usually pretty unsuccessful at managing them. At home, we're okay, but get me at church alone (when Erik's working) or at the grocery store and it's totally crazy. I dread church and shopping trips after the third comes. Stacey, I am almost 12 weeks. I can't wait to get out of the first trimester and start feeling a little better (although Zofran helps!). Thank you, Robbie and Heidi and Hannah and Aubrey! It's so exciting to have everyone so excited! I have to admit that I was really having a hard time admitting that I was actually pregnant. Erik had to FORCE me to tell my family over Christmas! It's already been an adjustment.
