Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Mema and Deda: One of Oklahoma's Most Inspiring Couples

When Erik and I got married, we very specifically chose Erik's grandpa, "Deda," to marry us.  He not only is one of our most favorite people, and someone we look up to in every aspect of life, but him and Erik's grandma, "Mema," are a couple that we adore and strive to be like.
Apparently we aren't the only ones that feel this way about them! They were just nominated as one of Oklahoma's most inspiring couples.  We are so proud of them!  They definitely are such an inspiration to anyone and everyone that knows them.  They have so much love, generosity, and care to share with everyone.  I've never seen either one of them without a smile.

Here's a short video of our Mema and Deda...
(there will be a quick add first, and then the video)
