Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Two Little Sailors

Today I was working in the kitchen when I heard a big crash in the living room.  I ran into the living room to find out what it was and found Maida standing by the ironing board that had just fallen.  She said, "Oops, sorry.  That was an accident.  We're just trying to build a boat."  I quick glanced her and Skogen over to make sure they weren't hurt, smiled, and carried on in the kitchen.  Soon I heard, "Mooooo-oooooooom, come and look at our booooo-ooooat!"  They were sailing across the ocean to a beach where they could play with their beach balls.  What great imaginations!  Enjoy the movie (by the way, I really do brush Maida's hair and get my kids dressed!  My mom is appalled that I would ever post pictures or videos of my kids like this, but this is just how some days go...)!
