Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Valentine Party

Our weekly playgroup had a Valentine party yesterday morning.  The kids made valentines for the older ladies class at church.  Maida did a great job using sissors, glue, stickers, markers, and ribbon to make two valentines.  Skogen really surprised me and colored a valentine all by himself! (Click on the pictures to make them bigger.)
Carly brought cupcakes for the kids to decorate and eat.  Skogen could have eaten 15 of them (I could have too!).  They were so good!  Maida's favorite thing was was using a knife the smear the frosting and putting valentine sprinkles on the top.

The kids enjoyed playing after making valentines and cupcakes.  We continued the party at McDonalds where we ate lunch and had great conversation while the kids played with the lego table and crawled on the life-sized McDonald.
On the way home, I decided to take Skogen back to the doctor since he had not been feeling well for two days.  Two weeks ago he was diagnosed with an ear infection and I had a sneaky suspicion that it hadn't went away, yet.  We got right into our pediatrician and she confirmed that Skogen's ear infection was still present.  However, Skogen also has RSV!  He isn't as sick as most kids with RSV, so we're just keeping an eye on it and letting it run it's course.
