Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

First Week Pictures

Here are some pictures from the first week at home with Skogen...

Maida in Daddy's ski helmet. She's still waiting to go skiing for her first time, which she'll do in a couple weeks when Nana and Papa come from Oklahoma.
We had some special visitors on Friday! Kara's brother Jay and his wife Nancy, along with their daughters Brittany, Sarena, and Natalie came to meet Skogen for the first time. Skogen got really spoiled by being held all day long by his sweet cousins! He also got some new clothes, which we really appreciated (THANK YOU!!!).

The first week has been a lot easier than I had thought it would be. My mom came to help and the ladies from church have been making us dinners. Skogen is a pretty easy baby and Maida has adapted well to the new babe. There was one night when I didn't go to sleep once because either Maida or Skogen was awake, but other than that it's been pretty easy. Skogen loves to eat and would eat every hour if I let him! He also doesn't like the dark and won't sleep in his crib at night unless we leave the light on! We are so thankful for our babies and love being parents to two children. I'm working on our birth story and hopefully will post that soon.
