Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

Picture Update

We are so sorry that we've been so bad at updating the blog! We never thought that we'd be this tired! It seems like the days pass so fast, getting to know as much as we can about this new little baby. The nights seem to drag on and on, making both of us feel so sleep deprived. Skogen is a great baby, happy most of the time. He eats and sleeps well, however he may eat a little too well as he loves to eat every hour of the night! The lactation consultant said this was called "cluster feeding" and that it's okay to do. I think it's crazy feeding and it really does't work for me! I have only slept for three hours total since we got here. I may try to put Skogen in the nursery tonight as I'm sure I would start recovering a little faster and better if I had some rest.

Here are some pictures from our hospital stay. We will be going home tomorrow! Thanks for all of the prayers. (Click on the pictures to make them bigger.)

  1. What a little bundle of love! I adore his little hat! I will pray you get the rest you need, hang in there, I know what sleep deprivation does to me.

  2. The thing that saved my life with my babies was learning (as soon as possible) to nurse lying down. The getting up and schlepping to the rocking chair ever hour or two all night was brutal...
