Welcome to the Scharrer family's real life story! Most of our story is written for, and about, our four kids and the spice they add to our lives. It's our story of happiness, craziness, and sometimes ridiculousness. We've journaled through childbirth, the terrible two's, private school (and our public school experience), an autism diagnosis, medical school, residency, and long-term mission work in Africa.

Now we're following a new adventure, which involves a 45 foot motorcoach, homeschool, and as many ski slopes as we can go down in one year.

For posts from while we were living in Zimbabwe and updates about our future plans in Zimbabwe, please see our mission blog...

Names

"Picture Dance Move Eela"

"Sally To Move It Dada"

"Windows Salerina"

"Shark Dance Wall"

"Beela Sadala"

While it seems fairly easy for Maida to name her favorite dance moves, we're not having such luck naming the new baby! Erik's stuck on names that have a "K" in it. I'm stuck on digging up some family history. Maida's into making up her own names (her latest is "Tuna-loola-loola"). Wouldn't it be nice if babies came with name tags?

  1. Names are so hard!! I think that is why God gives us 40 weeks of being pregnant, just so we can pick a name! :)

  2. Ha! And holy cow, it really does take all 40 weeks to decide, too! :) My goal is to have a name by the time the baby gets here. I don't want the baby to remain nameless for days until we finally decide (Hannah, that's what happened with Kenan!) I think it would be a little easier if we would have found out what gender we were having!

  3. As a girl's name, I would pick Salome. It sounds pretty, and comes from Mark 15:40.

I can't think of any good K names right now, sadly.
